The Adult Critical Care Unit at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and organized Receptionist to join our team. As a Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our unit, providing exceptional patient care and support to our multidisciplinary team.
Main Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the ward team, including managing patient records, updating bed state, and tracking case notes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate and timely information exchange.
- Utilize computerized patient administrative systems to complete necessary documentation and input data on PAS for admissions, transfers, deaths, and discharges.
- Monitor PAS system regularly for patient test results and record these in patient results charts.
- Collaborate with medical secretaries, theatre staff, and shift charge to coordinate booking and/or cancellation of elective patients and record resultant admission or cancellation details.
- GCSE/O-Level or equivalent standard in English and Maths.
- Computer literacy, including typing skills and experience using Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and use initiative.
- Familiarity with healthcare settings and procedures, with a customer-focused approach.
