Senior Palliative Care Lead

St Helena Hospice is seeking a Senior Palliative Care Lead to contribute to the team in ensuring that the aims and objectives of the organisation are met. The post holder will have a key leadership role at senior level and will provide specialist knowledge and skills to ensure the delivery of care within the Hospice as part of The Hospice Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
The post holder will be responsible for the overall clinical management of the unit in collaboration with the Registered Manager and Clinical Leadership Team. They will act as a role model for all staff working within the Hospice service, demonstrating a professional and proactive approach, providing expert clinical practice and advice.
The Senior Palliative Care Lead will also be responsible for leading the patient safety culture across the whole of the St Helena clinical services, supporting a patient safety culture with clear systems in place to ensure senior management and executive understanding of the issues that may exist and actions needed to be taken.
Key responsibilities include leading the nursing team to deliver care that meets the CQC fundamental standards, managing respite beds, and coordinating the application and monitoring of Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funded placements.
The ideal candidate will have worked at a senior level in palliative care, maintained NMC registration and skills, and have experience in areas of patient safety.
