About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Targeted Youth Services team in Essex. As a Senior Youth Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to young people, addressing specific issues and barriers to education, training, and employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement delivery plans that provide information, advice, and guidance to support young people's needs, views, and aspirations.
  • Lead a team of youth support specialists to achieve strategic objectives and deliver against contractual targets.
  • Collaborate with senior school-based staff, social care, SEND, and other stakeholders to influence interventions and remove barriers to learning, training, and employment.
  • Advocate with parents/carers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners to secure funding and resources for targeted youth services.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level and/or possess a relevant professional qualification, such as IAG L6 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of managing staff and implementing external funded contracts.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive a highly performing and motivated team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to staff, partner agencies, and young people.
  • Flexibility and ability to work creatively to respond to staff and young people's needs.
