Grassroots Women's Advocate

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Women's Development Officer to join our team at the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women from local communities, promoting their empowerment and influencing decision-making processes.
About the Position:
The Women's Development Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that increase women's voice, visibility, and influence in decision-making processes. You will work closely with community groups, statutory agencies, and other stakeholders to promote women's empowerment and collaborate with the Grants Directorate to develop a bursary program supporting women from grassroots communities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop resources and toolkits to improve women's awareness, knowledge, and capacity to engage with decision-makers.
- Organize issue-based workshops to connect and engage women on relevant issues, such as good relations, poverty, and violence against women.
- Support grassroots women in advocating for policies and campaigns that affect their lives.
Requirements:
- A relevant third-level qualification and three years of paid experience in a similar role or at least five years of paid experience in a similar role.
- Significant work experience and competency in community development approaches, working with marginalized women, and establishing relationships with community groups and statutory agencies.
- Strong facilitation skills, effective budget management, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- A competitive salary range of £36,124 - £37,938 (pro rata) based on NJC Points 26-28.
