Aboriginal Community Liaison

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Aboriginal Community Liaison to join our team at the Saskatchewan Research Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with Aboriginal communities and ensuring the successful delivery of Project CLEANS - the cleanup of 38 abandoned sites in the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise between our scientists, engineers, and managers and Aboriginal communities.
- Assist in providing smart science solutions to communities in the area of Environment and Forestry and other program areas of the Saskatchewan Research Council.
- Travel within Saskatchewan will be required.
Requirements:
- Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Broad-based knowledge of Aboriginal organizations, institutions, political, and social issues, particularly in northern Saskatchewan communities.
- Ability to build links between science, traditional knowledge, and program delivery.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with Saskatchewan Aboriginal communities.
Education: Degree in Science, Commerce, or Business Administration, or an equivalent amount of experience.
