Aboriginal Community Engagement Specialist

Position Overview:
The OpenHire Support Test Company is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections with Aboriginal communities. We are currently seeking a full-time Aboriginal Community Liaison to enhance our collaborative efforts and strengthen our networks.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our team of scientists, engineers, and managers and the Aboriginal communities we engage with. Your contributions will be crucial in:
- Facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Supporting the delivery of innovative scientific solutions in the fields of Environment and Forestry.
- Traveling within Saskatchewan to engage with various communities.
Focus Areas:
Your primary objective will be to work closely with Aboriginal communities to ensure the successful execution of Project CLEANS, which involves the remediation of 38 abandoned sites in the Athabasca Basin. Additionally, you will play a key role in:
- Business development initiatives.
- Engaging with Aboriginal communities regarding further environmental remediation projects.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Science, Commerce, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with Saskatchewan Aboriginal communities.
Skills Required:
We are looking for individuals with strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to deliver high-quality work within a team setting. A comprehensive understanding of Aboriginal organizations, institutions, and the socio-political landscape, particularly in northern Saskatchewan, is essential. You should also have the ability to integrate scientific knowledge with traditional practices and program implementation.
