Principal Radiation Protection Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Protection Adviser to support the advice and guidance provided by other health physics practitioners. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of IRR17, EPR16 and be able to guide on regulatory reporting and interface requirements.
This role is based at CCFE in Culham, Oxfordshire and requires employees to complete an online BPSS check, including DBS checks for criminal convictions. As a Radiation Protection Adviser, you will be responsible for ensuring that any advice or guidance given relating to matters set out in Schedule 4 of IRR17 is done so in accordance with UKAEA requirements.
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life assurance, annual leave and flexible working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on safety issues associated with working with beryllium.
- Support the advice and guidance provided by other health physics practitioners.
- Main contributor to the functional management of radiological safety performance.
Requirements:
- Current certificate of competence to be a Radiation Protection Adviser is a MUST.
- Experience working on major projects as a technical lead and contract manager.
- Demonstrable experience in strategy and planning.
