Ionising Radiation Advisor

About the Job
The Ionising Radiation Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, Environmental Permitting Regulations, COSHH, and other related legislation. This involves working closely with Health Physicists (HP) and Radiation Protection Advisers (RPA) to provide advice and guidance to personnel on radiation protection matters.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing requirements for controlled and supervised areas, conducting investigations as required by IRR17 and the Company, drawing up contingency plans, performing dose assessments, and recording doses as per regulation 22. You will also help provide advice on safety issues associated with working with beryllium and support HPs/RPAs in providing technical support to corporate activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement requirements for controlled and supervised areas

- DRAW UP CONTINGENCY PLANS
- Perform dose assessments and record doses
- Help provide advice on safety issues associated with working with beryllium

Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Science or related discipline or equivalent qualification
- Keen to learn about Radiation Protection
- Comfortable talking to a wide range of personnel with varied backgrounds
