Development and Communications Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development and Communications Director to join our team at the Coalition Against Hunger. As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our fundraising efforts, as well as supporting the work of our Communications Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful development plans. You will be a team-oriented individual with a creative approach to fundraising, and have a strong understanding of the greater Philadelphia region and its philanthropic community.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented and dedicated group of professionals who are passionate about making a positive difference in our community. We offer a hybrid working model, with one day per week in the office and the remainder of the time working remotely from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an Annual Fundraising and Communications Plan and budget to support organizational and strategic goals.
  • Staff the Board's Development Committee.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Your Part Time Controller (YPTC) to ensure that revenue is tracked and recorded correctly.
  • As a member of the CAH Leadership Team, work in tandem with the Executive Director, Director of Policy and Education, and Director of Programs to align and support the strategic direction of the Coalition.
  • Manage special projects as requested.
  • Support the Board Development Committee's efforts to cultivate the Board of Directors fundraising efforts.
  • Communicate grant expectations and financial restrictions to program team members, the Operations Manager, YPTC, and Executive Director for tracking purposes.
  • Provide leadership for fundraising events such as the Race Against Hunger and the Night To Fight Hunger.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree, with a minimum of five years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing a development plan.
  • Team oriented with a creative approach to fundraising.
  • Knowledge of the greater Philadelphia region and its philanthropic community.
  • CRM experience. QuickBooks online experience is a plus.
