We Do Social Work is looking for a compassionate Leaving Care Advocate to join their team in providing critical support to young people leaving care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the emotional and practical challenges faced by young people leaving care and be able to provide guidance and support to help them navigate these challenges.

Salary: £16.01 per hour, based on 36 hours per week.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people leaving care, helping them to cope with the challenges they face.
  • Help young people to develop resilience and coping strategies to overcome the emotional and practical challenges they face.
  • Work closely with young people, their families, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out within statutory guidelines and departmental procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out with young people using our computerized contact management system.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people leaving care or similar vulnerable groups.
  • Strong understanding of the emotional and practical challenges faced by young people leaving care.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with young people and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
