About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Geophysical Equipment Specialist to join our Geophysical Engineering Workshop Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, assembly, calibration, and repair of geophysical equipment and instruments.

This is a hands-on role that requires a mechanical bias, but also involves testing and calibration of electronic equipment. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our equipment is in good working condition and that our operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly inspect geophysical instruments to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refurbishing, and replacing worn-out parts and diagnose and repair faulty equipment.
  • Calibrate geophysical instruments to ensure precise measurements and maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
  • Operate forklift trucks and organize warehouse and yard spaces.
  • Assist in the mobilization of vessels away from base.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment in the workshop.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical or maintenance role.
  • Preferably, the candidate has some Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic system knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
