About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at White Stuff. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales and providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Service Management
    • Lead team briefs to ensure the team is equipped with the knowledge and motivation needed to achieve sales targets.
    • Review customer feedback and observe the team to ensure they are providing a welcoming and personalized shopping experience.
    • Plan and organize events, including customer events, to drive sales and engagement.
    • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales performance through exceptional customer service.
    • Drive the team to have meaningful and memorable conversations with customers, ensuring they are aware of each customer's behavior and preferences.
    • Ensure the team understands product features and can effectively communicate these to customers to support their purchasing decisions.
  • People Management and Development
    • Contribute to setting team objectives to ensure the team is working together to achieve business goals.
    • Work with the Shop Manager to attract, recruit, and retain high-caliber team members.
    • Encourage the team to collect customer information and identify marketing opportunities to drive sales.
  • Shop Operations and Visual Presentation
    • Work with the management team to ensure product and shop standards are maintained at all times.
    • Evaluate floor layout and sales trends regularly, taking action to ensure the shop floor is responding to commercial opportunities.
    • Play a key role in organizing stock takes and ensuring accurate reconciliation.
    • Be a point of contact for HQ in the Shop Manager's absence.
    • Maintain or build a strong relationship with the local charity partner, sharing this passion with the team and customers.
    • Work with the Shop Manager to ensure the shop operates within budget.
    • Ensure awareness of Made for Change products and their positive impact.
    • Understand our approach to Ethical Sourcing and be able to explain it to the team and customers.
    • Live our values, ensuring they are alive in the shop.
