About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care as a Consultant in Colorectal Surgery at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. The post-holder will work closely with the Colorectal Service team to provide expert care to patients with colorectal conditions.
Main Responsibilities
The Consultant will be responsible for:
1. Delivering high-quality patient care, including surgical procedures and post-operative care.
2. Participating in the development and implementation of the Colorectal Service, including Gynaecology Oncology service.
3. Sharing responsibility for the management of urgent colorectal cases with other Consultant Colorectal surgeons.
4. Ensuring full submission of data to the Somerset database, in line with national recommendations.
5. Participating in clinical governance, including effective clinical audit and continuing medical education.
6. Contributing to management within the Trust through the Directorate.
7. Participating in teaching programmes for medical staff, medical students, and other hospital employees as required.
