About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Hays Accounts and Finance in Portsmouth. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team with various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile and collate sales data, including posting of cash statements
  • Work closely with the management team to provide support for finance-related queries and review financial performance
  • Own and manage quarterly BAU financial performance meetings with management, challenging performance and providing key action points
  • Produce and complete investments to be sent to investment partners monthly
  • Work with administrators to ensure timely reconciliation and meet payment deadlines
  • Undertake all other accounting tasks, including accounting for plan deficits and excesses
  • Own the monthly Management Accounts Reporting function, ensuring timely deadlines and high-quality output
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reconcile debtors, and create Bad Debt Provision
  • Assist with credit control, providing evidence for debt write-offs and liaison with an external debt management company
  • Support the Finance Manager with budget preparation and quarterly re-forecasting
  • Collaborate with the Financial Processing Team Manager on reconciliation and query resolution
  • Shared ownership of the cash management system closed-down procedure and flash sales reporting
Requirements
  • Full right-to-work in the UK
  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • AAT Qualified or QBE
  • Studying towards ACCA/CIMA (desirable)
  • Proficient in Excel and high IT literacy
