We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a career in education, psychology, or as a counsellor or therapist.

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored support and guidance to students based on their individual learning requirements. You will have the opportunity to engage with students aged 4-16, inspire and motivate them, and help build their confidence.

You will also collaborate with the class teacher to implement strategies and interventions that promote academic growth, confidence, and ability to overcome challenges. While working as a mental health assistant, you will be surrounded by a supportive team of staff and have opportunities to shadow and learn from other experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • providing emotional support and guidance to students;
  • working collaboratively with the class teacher to deliver tailored support and guidance;
  • helping students to build their confidence and ability to overcome challenges;
  • collaborating with the class teacher to implement strategies and interventions that promote academic growth;
  • maintaining accurate records of student progress and development.
