Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Power Generation Specialist to join our team at Pharos. As a Generator Maintenance and Repair Expert, you will be responsible for providing top-notch maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair, and testing services for a range of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out diagnostic, testing, and remedial works on generators, switchgear, and associated equipment, and support planned maintenance where required, including load banking.
  • Conduct electrical fault finding and repair services.
  • Perform generator upgrades, including control panels.
  • Provide call-out cover for generator breakdowns on a rotational basis.
  • Carry out client site visits and generate accurate and timely reports.
  • Project spares requirements for upcoming and planned works.
  • Contribute to team technical development, training, and mentoring.
  • Support operational tasks, including reporting, quotations, progress reports, and customer inquiries.
  • Work outside of regular hours and provide on-call services.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the generator industry, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in standby power.
  • Proficiency in the installation and operation of DSE/Comap.
  • Qualified electrical engineer, such as NVQ Level 3/HNC/HND in Electronic/Electrical.
  • Qualified to 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
  • 2391/2 Inspect and Test qualified.
  • Switchgear experience/qualification is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in technical report writing with attention to detail.
  • A good network within the generator field is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license.
