Assistant Catering Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Assistant Catering professional to join our team at Baird Lodge, Ely.

Salary: £11.44 per hour (based on a 37-hour week)

About the Position:
  • Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks, adhering to food hygiene guidelines and resident dietary requirements
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen, communal areas, and customers' flats
  • Support customers with their daily routines, promoting independence and dignity
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for residents
  • Monitor and report any maintenance or repair issues promptly, ensuring a safe environment for all
  • Order and manage stock levels, restocking as necessary, and maintain equipment according to manufacturer instructions
Essential Skills:
  • Previous experience in a catering or domestic setting, preferably supporting vulnerable adults
  • Level 2 diploma in housekeeping/catering or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
  • A basic understanding of health and safety procedures and risk management
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays
