Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated BSL Support Worker to join our team at Queen Alexandra College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing interpreting services to d/Deaf learners, enabling them to access their education and participate fully in college life.

Key Tasks
  • Provide high-quality interpreting services during teaching and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for supporting d/Deaf students in achieving their academic goals.
  • Raise awareness among staff and students about factors that may impact communication quality for D/deaf students.
Requirements
  • BSL Level 6 qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding policies and procedures.

This role is subject to a DBS check and two references.
