Waterway Operations and Maintenance Expert

Morson Talent is seeking a Waterway Operations and Maintenance Expert to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning and safety of waterways in the Wigan/Pagefield and Liverpool area.
The role involves working on an on-going contract basis, requiring flexibility and adaptability to different tasks and locations. You will be involved in various tasks related to the maintenance and operation of the waterways, including lock operation, maintenance of canal banks, vegetation management, and general upkeep of the waterways.
We are looking for an individual with knowledge of waterway operations and maintenance procedures, as well as the ability to operate locks and other waterway structures. Proficiency in using tools and equipment for waterway maintenance is also essential. In addition, you should have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to waterway operations.
The ideal candidate will possess physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor in outdoor environments. Good communication skills are also required for coordinating with team members and stakeholders. Problem-solving skills to address any issues or obstacles in waterway operations are also necessary.
Based on the job requirements, we estimate the salary to be around £28,000 - £32,000 per annum.
