Geophysical Engineer

Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the efficient use, maintenance, and configuration of Gardline Geophysical and Seismic equipment.
- Performing engineering work to the highest standards in accordance with Gardline's Quality Assurance and HSE procedures.
- Operating a variety of electrical and hydraulic deployment systems, including winches, cranes, and jibs.
- Working safely on deck to deploy and recover overboard equipment and systems.
- Terminating and fabricating specialist cables, including underwater terminations and data/network cables.
- Conducting basic electrical testing using digital multi-meters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes, and computer-based diagnostic tooling.
- Ensuring that all Geophysical and Seismic Engineering equipment is tested, calibrated, and properly maintained.
- Monitoring and quality-controlling data records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensuring that Geophysical and Seismic data is acquired in compliance with good survey practice and logs are completed in accordance with company policy.
- Developing and operating engineering and administrative processes to support the work of the Geophysical Department under the direction of the onshore technical support team or offshore project manager.
- Providing technical assistance to Environmental and Geotechnical operations.
You can make your mark as an Offshore Geophysical Engineer if you have:
- Experience in relevant engineering disciplines, such as Electronic, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical, Data Communications, or IT Infrastructure.
- Broad knowledge of Geophysical and Seismic operations.
- A proven track record of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- The ability to develop constructive and open relationships with a wide range of people.
- Team spirit and a 'can-do' attitude.
- The ability to problem-solve using initiative and creativity.
- A dedicated work ethic.
- Fluent spoken and written English, including technical terminology.
- High-level IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- The ability to pass ENG-1 and STCW-95 (or recognised equivalent).
Qualifications in an engineering, electronics, or mechanical field are required, as well as Level 3 or higher qualifications in technical subjects, such as Maths, Electronics, or Physics.
