Geophysical Engineer Lead

The Geophysical Engineer In Charge will be responsible for leading the safe operation and acquisition of geophysical survey equipment and data. This includes ensuring that all engineering work is performed at the highest standards in accordance with the company's Quality Assurance and HSE procedures.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that all Geophysical Engineering equipment is tested, calibrated, and sufficient spares are stocked, manuals are available. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring that the Geophysical data is acquired in compliance with good survey practice and logs are completed in accordance with company policy.
The Geophysical Engineer In Charge will also be responsible for developing and operating appropriate engineering and administrative processes to effectively support the work of the Geophysical Department. This includes being proficient in the use, maintenance, deployment, and mobilization of all Gardline Geophysical equipment.
Other key responsibilities include monitoring and quality controlling data records in an accurate and timely manner, attending all toolbox meetings unless otherwise directed, and providing a proactive and comprehensive service to effectively support the needs of the Geophysical Engineering Department.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, the Geophysical Engineer In Charge will need to have a broad knowledge of Geophysical and Seismic operations. They will also need to have a proven track record of being able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop constructive and open relationships with a wide range of people. They will also need to have a team spirit and a 'can-do' attitude, with the ability to problem solve using initiative and creativity.
Additionally, the Geophysical Engineer In Charge will need to have high level IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to pass ENG-1 and STCW-95 (or recognized equivalent). They will also need to have the ability to coach and mentor others.
