Geophysical Equipment Technician
We are seeking a skilled Geophysical Equipment Technician to join our Geophysical Engineering Workshop Team. As a Geophysical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, assembly, calibration, and repair of geophysical equipment and instruments.
This is a hands-on role that requires a mechanical bias, but also involves testing and calibration of electronic equipment. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our geophysical equipment is in good working condition and that our projects are completed on time and within budget.
Your Responsibilities:
- Regularly inspect geophysical instruments to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refurbishing, and replacing worn-out parts and diagnose and repair faulty equipment.
- Calibrate geophysical instruments to ensure precise measurements and maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
- Operate a forklift truck and organize the warehouse and yard.
- Assist in the mobilization of vessels away from base.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment in the workshop.
Your Qualities:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical or maintenance role.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical/electronic systems is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
