About the Opportunity

We are working with a respected developer, known for crafting high-quality homes that enjoy national recognition, to expand their technical team and bring in a Senior Engineer to oversee various engineering disciplines across multiple residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting site appraisals for new land acquisitions, including analysing levels and drainage strategies.
  • Offering expert advice on utilities, highways requirements, and planning obligations to support cost analysis.
  • Managing third-party consultants to develop comprehensive tender packages for infrastructure design (civil/structural engineering and utilities).
  • Collaborating with legal teams and local authorities to secure relevant Section Agreements for the adoption of new highways, drainage, and utility assets.
  • Providing engineering advice and resolving issues arising during the construction phase.
  • Coordinating the final inspection, vesting, and adoption of infrastructure assets with the relevant parties.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of HNC/HND qualification in an engineering-related discipline with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in residential housing, either within a development company or private practice, and a solid understanding of highways, drainage, and utilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with external consultants, local authorities, and flood authorities.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent coordination abilities.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and MicroDrainage is desirable but not essential.

With a strong track record of delivering complex projects, you will have the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £65k-£70k plus benefits, depending on experience.
