Event Manager- Operations

Birmingham's Grand Hotel on Colmore Row is housed in one of the city's most iconic buildings, offering a unique work environment for our Event Manager - Operations.



Key Responsibilities


  • Motivate the team by leading from the front with confidence and positivity at all times
  • Assist in the planning, organising and control of day-to-day operations of the department to ensure established standards of performance are maintained and total guest satisfaction is achieved
  • Work alongside the Head Chef to ensure quality of food and drinks, and to be knowledgeable on the menus to answer any questions and make recommendations
  • Ensure the meeting and event rooms are set up as per function details and instructions received from the Conference Office, at all times
  • Meet with organisers at the end of their event to solicit their opinions and feedback on how our service and standards
  • Ensure the team is well-trained, friendly and offers great engagement and efficient service for guests


Ideal Candidate


  • Previous Experience as an Event Manager in a Hotel
  • Strong leadership skills, as demonstrated in a similar role within a conference and events setting
  • Warm and genuine nature, someone who can make people feel at ease
  • Confident, clear and polite communication skills to pass information to all guests
  • Promote a positive attitude and display the ability to 'make things happen' to achieve or exceed anticipated results
  • Highly customer-service oriented, with the ability to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
