Job Title: Anaesthetist Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetist Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in anaesthesia for adults undergoing high-risk surgery and will be responsible for delivering emergency anaesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver anaesthesia services for adults undergoing high-risk surgery
  • Provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff
  • Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the department's business plan
  • Be aware of and comply with all Trust infection prevention and control policies
  • Be accountable for the implementation of the Code of Practice within the department

Requirements:

  • Full Registration with GMC and completed subspecialty training programme in anaesthesia
  • Wide experience in delivery of anaesthesia for general, major/high risk surgery and trauma/cepod surgery
  • Experience in high-risk obstetrics
  • Pre-assessment and perioperative medicine experience
  • Additional training/fellowship in a specialist area
  • Familiar with current structure of Health Service and conversant with recent initiatives and changes
  • Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience of clinical research
  • Experience of undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and exam preparation
