Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team at the CareTech Group, supporting young adults with profound deafness in a residential home setting in Mid Devon.

About the Role

You will work closely with our team to provide daily care and support, facilitating communication through British Sign Language and other visual aids.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide person-centred care and support to our young adults, promoting independence and confidence.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with our residents, their families, and other professionals.
  3. Collaborate with the team to create a stimulating and engaging environment, offering a range of activities and hobbies.
  4. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in deaf support.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) desired, with willingness to learn and develop your skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising the needs of our residents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
