Residential Support Worker - Deaf Services

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at CareTech Group. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our young adults who are profoundly deaf and require assistance with their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting our young adults with their daily needs, including personal care and medication management
  • Assisting with communication using British Sign Language (BSL) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
  • Participating in a range of activities, hobbies, and educational input to promote independence and social skills
  • Working closely with other local organisations and services to provide a wide choice of activities and support
  • Contributing to the day-to-day running of the residential home and supporting the team

Requirements:

  • Desirable knowledge of BSL, with courses offered to support development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and professional development
