We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our musculoskeletal physiotherapy team, working in a dynamic inpatient orthopaedic setting.



As a specialist paediatric physiotherapist, you will work with children and young people who have undergone elective or trauma surgery, including orthopaedic oncology, spinal surgery, and major trauma. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with children, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.



Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assess, treat, and lead the care of children undergoing elective and trauma surgery, including orthopaedic oncology, spinal, and major trauma.
  • Work as part of an inpatient trauma team, covering the paediatric burn service, and support the team as needed.
  • Provide decisive and effective therapy input, with a flexible approach, when working under pressure.
  • Supervise and teach rotational band 6, band 5, assistant staff, and students, ensuring their development and growth.

Qualifications and Experience


  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Relevant postgraduate courses and HCPC registration.
  • Previous experience in paediatric orthopaedics at band 6 level or above, with evidence of teaching, supervising, and effective multidisciplinary working.


Skills and Abilities


  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills.
  • Ability to manually handle patients and equipment.
  • Awareness of limitations and ability to use initiative.
