About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cook to join our team at Akari Care. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality meals for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for our residents, taking into account their individual needs and dietary requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with our care team to ensure that mealtimes are enjoyable and stress-free for our residents.
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members to ensure that they are equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds 706 1&2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Head chef or Head Cook experience in a similar environment
  • Supervisory or Line Management experience
  • A caring nature and ability to provide a personal approach to our residents
  • Proven ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and delegate effectively
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes at short notice
  • Warm, approachable, and engaging persona
  • Respect for others and ability to treat colleagues and residents with dignity
