Job Description

Job Title: Automotive Product Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Field-based, UK (Remote)

Travel: Travel will be required within the UK, with the option of a Company car or car allowance provided

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure SGS United Kingdom Limited maintains and adheres to accreditation requirements
  • Plan and conduct professional management system audits in accordance with SGS procedures to enable delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards
  • Maintain and further develop procedures and resources for the profitable delivery of automotive certification
  • Provide technical expertise, support, and training to Technical & Accreditation Manager, SGS UK automotive auditors, affiliates, and line Manager
  • Expand the range of products and services delivered in the sector and support sales activities
  • Project manage key clients as required

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date sector knowledge and expertise, and cascade this to other auditing staff
  • Research, develop, and maintain Product procedures, quality plans, briefing notes, and guidance notes
  • Assist Certification Managers to ensure appropriate endorsement of Product Qualification Records for the automotive standards
  • Adhere to the accredited office's responsibilities stated in the supporting office agreements with the relevant affiliates
  • In conjunction with the Certification managers, source, manage, and train sub-contracted staff to assist in the delivery of certification work in the Product
  • Seek opportunities to expand the client base in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Client Managers
  • Liaise as necessary with professional bodies and organizations to protect and develop the company's commercial and technical interests in the sector

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and ISO 45000
  • Lead Auditor IATF 16949
  • Extensive experience within the Automotive industry
  • Experience of working under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience of managing and leading teams
  • Developing Quality Management systems
  • Previous Automotive Project Management experience is advantageous
  • Degree, Post Grad Diploma, MSc, or equivalent in a relevant subject is advantageous
