Children's Home Manager

Medsolve is proud to partner with an exceptional organization seeking a dedicated Children's Home Registered Manager to join their team at their home in Bishop Auckland.
This is a permanent role offering a starting salary of £50,000.
Please note that we do not offer sponsorship.
Main Responsibilities- Manage, coordinate, and develop a range of quality therapeutic services for young people.
- Ensure the Home exceeds all standards as stated in the Children's Home Regulations 2015 and all other legislation.
- Provide effective, empathetic, and dynamic leadership.
- Promote team development and effective team working.
- Take the lead in reflective practice.
- Ensure that the Statement of Purpose and all statutory and relevant paperwork is reflective of our therapeutic practice, outlining how we will meet the needs of the young people within our care.
- Coordinate and organize an efficient staff rota and ensure that sufficient backup resources are available in emergency/out-of-hours situations, including participation in an out-of-hours OnCall rota when necessary.
- Ensure that all team members have meaningful supervision and be confident in their ability to encourage team members to think about how therapeutic approaches can be applied in their practical and paperwork.
- Be responsible for quality inductions for their staff team, devoting time and effort to each new staff member, ensuring they feel effective and confident in their roles.
- Actively participate in recruitment, grievance, disciplinary, wellness, and other staffing matters with support from the operations team.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety Regulations are followed in accordance with policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensure that all finance, budgets, control, administration, and records comply with procedures.
- MUST have experience in Residential Children's Social Care with a minimum of two years' experience, ideally as a deputy or senior member of staff.
- An understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and therapeutic background. A working knowledge of PACE and effective understanding of what a therapeutic placement looks like for children is advantageous or a willingness to learn.
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills.
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare/Health and Social Care Children's Workforce (or equivalent) or have a NVQ Level 5 in Residential Childcare or equivalent or be willing to work towards this qualification within two years.
- MUST have at least one year's experience in a management and supervisory role.
- Be able and willing to pass an Ofsted Fit Person Interview.
- UK Driving License.
- Confidence and understanding of The Children's Home Regulations and all legislation associated with the running of a registered Children's Home.
- Confidence when dealing with people, the ability to challenge, guide, and mentor.
- A clear DBS and positive references from all companies where you have worked with children or vulnerable adults.
- The ability and strength of character to deal with challenging situations.
