Job Description

The Director of Operations is a key member of the hospital's senior leadership team, responsible for the strategic development, operational, and clinical performance of a number of specialisms within a Care Group structure.

Reporting to the Site Chief Executive, the Director of Operations is accountable for the delivery of operational and clinical performance in a number of specialisms at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill, and associated sites.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing strong leadership to senior management reports, ensuring that effective management and performance systems are in place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure staff are empowered to develop, lead, and implement changes in service delivery in line with Group strategy and agreed Trust objectives.
  • Lead on the development of a culture of continuous improvement to meet quality, financial, and performance targets and standards.
  • Work with the Site Executive Team and other Trust senior leaders to challenge poor practice and put remedial actions in place to ensure and evidence improvement.
Person Specification
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience, expertise, and understanding of performance and change management, business planning, budget setting, and contracting processes in a health setting.
  • A record of significant achievement in directing and managing the delivery and improvement of services within an organisation of comparable size and complexity.
