Job Title: Director of Operations and Digital Transformation

About the Role:

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) is seeking a highly skilled Director of Operations and Digital Transformation to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of our resources, leading our Digital Transformation Project, and supporting the business planning and direction setting for ISTD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Resource Operations: Ensure that all services are efficient and compliant, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board, and other Directors.
  • Develop HR and Facilities: Lead on the development of HR and facilities, ensuring that ISTD has the physical, human, and technological resources needed to achieve planned growth and efficiency.
  • Manage the Digital Transformation Project: Lead the project as the internal project lead and manage the digital project governance board.
  • Act as Data Protection Officer: Act as ISTD's Data Protection Officer and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have substantial experience in leadership roles at Director or Senior Manager level, with extensive experience of working at a senior level in digital services, ideally within a membership or educational environment. You will also need to have a proven track record of the successful development and delivery of complex digital systems, substantial project management experience, and a proven ability to set, control, and report on budgeting.

Competencies:

  • Technical: Demonstrates business acumen, contributes to the creation, implementation, and evaluation of ISTD's strategic plans, and delivers high-quality, efficient, and compliant operational services.
  • Leadership and Management: Ensures that initiatives and priorities in their department(s) effectively deliver business objectives and are aligned with ISTD's strategic priorities, and displays resilient and motivational leadership to maximise team and employee performance.

  • Hybrid Working: This role can be worked on a Hybrid basis, with 40% of the time spent in the office and the remainder working remotely.
  • Paid Holiday: 25 days paid holiday pro rata each year, plus 8 public/bank holidays, 4 days between Christmas and New Year, and 37 paid days in total pro rata.
