About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Supervisor to join our Facilities Management Transport Team at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the provision of a professional and efficient Internal Mail Delivery service, collecting and delivering mail across Kent, including equipment, and other ad hoc items as and when required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of drivers, managing rotas and workload to ensure the continuity of the service at all times.
  • Support the daily operation of the Internal Mail Delivery service, including the collection and delivery of mail, equipment, and other items as required.
  • Manage and maintain the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working order and meet the necessary safety standards.
  • Develop and implement effective logistics and transportation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of transportation services.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role, preferably in a healthcare or transportation setting.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through vocational qualifications to Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of routine daily maintenance of vehicles and Kent's road networks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
