We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team within the Royal Edinburgh and Associated Services (REAS), specifically within the Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) Team in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients on Eden and Harlaw wards, as well as potentially covering dementia assessment wards and off-site Hospital-Based Clinical Complex Care (HBCCC) wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective occupational therapy plans to support patients in achieving their goals and improving their mental health and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide expert advice on occupational therapy interventions to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice within the team.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on occupational therapy principles and practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in mental health settings.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support colleagues in achieving their goals.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to contribute to the growth and improvement of the team.
