We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a highly reputable SEN School in Barnet. The role is full-time, starting ASAP, on a long-term basis until the end of the academic year, with a high likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will have experience supporting young people with severe mental health needs, working in a small provision that focuses on providing education for vulnerable children between ages 11 - 16 years old on a short-term basis, with an aim to help them re-integrate back into mainstream.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to adapt to pupils' changing needs, working with various pupils depending on the needs of the day. This offers constant variation throughout the week, ensuring a stimulating environment. Team work is essential, therefore the school has harnessed a close-knit family feel which provides you with support and a real sense of achievement on a weekly basis.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, with the opportunity for CPD, a great referral bonus, and termly networking & social events.

Job Description:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience supporting young people with mental health difficulties
  2. Previous TA, LSA or support work within a school, PRU, Alternative Provision or other child-related experience
  3. Open-minded, positive and friendly approach
  4. A caring and professional manner
  5. Must have legal right to work in the UK
