About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Technician to join our team at Torness Station. As an Operations Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the plant's condition and identify and resolve sub-standard conditions through work requests.
  • Perform minor tool pouch maintenance and report civil defects through the helpdesk process.
  • Respond to requests from the control room to investigate plant alarms and perform required operations.
  • Control and monitor the plant and equipment to support the process by following procedures and applying conservative decision-making techniques.
  • Investigate and rectify plant faults within your area of demonstrated competence, carrying out minor maintenance and health physics monitoring as required.

Requirements

  • Previous operational or engineering work experience in a heavy process environment, supported by relevant qualifications.
  • A focus on safety, with the ability to follow written process instructions and complete paperwork accurately.
  • Good level of computer literacy, including proficiency in programmes like Word and Excel, as well as our bespoke systems.
  • Minimum education to GCSE/National Qualifications standards (or equivalent).

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £37,169 - £46,963, with a shift allowance starting from a minimum of £11,359 per annum. We also offer a range of benefits, including a dynamic and inclusive work environment, opportunities for professional development, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
