Special School Nurse

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special School Nurse to join our team. As a Special School Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our pupils with complex needs.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive healthcare plans for pupils with complex health needs, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide training and support to school staff on healthcare-related topics, such as medication management, epilepsy management, and gastrostomy feeding.
- Work closely with the education team to ensure that pupils receive the best possible care and support.

- Relevant experience of working with children and families with complex health needs.
- Relevant experience of multi-agency working.
- Experience of training and monitoring staff around gastrostomy care, administering medication, and epilepsy management.
- Current knowledge and experience of safeguarding.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans.
- Ability to teach others around children's complex health needs.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Initiative and ability to deal with issues as they arise.
- Relationships and ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships with children and young people.
- Emotional resilience to working with some challenging behaviours and occasionally life-limiting conditions.
- IT literacy.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to create empathy and demonstrate sensitivity to others.
- Teamwork and ability to work as a team member.
