Job Summary

Chiltern Wood School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special School Nurse to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work closely with education and other agencies to ensure the children achieve their full potential in school.

Main Responsibilities

The Special School Nurse will be responsible for ensuring that all children with complex health needs have detailed healthcare plans and that these are reviewed and evaluated on a yearly basis. The role will involve teaching and supporting school staff in meeting and maintaining the health needs of the children, including providing training in medication management, epilepsy management, and gastrostomy feeding.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with a passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to make a real difference in the lives of our students. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive therapy team and will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Learning Disability or Registered Child branch/RSCN
  • Relevant experience of working with children and families with complex health needs
  • Relevant experience of multi-agency working
  • Current knowledge and experience of safeguarding
