Job Opportunity: Interim Service Manager Fostering

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Interim Service Manager to lead our Fostering Services team in Tameside, Greater Manchester. As a seasoned professional in managing fostering, placements, and adoption services, you will oversee the daily operations of the team, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of 3 Team Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of fostering services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of care and support for children and young people in foster care.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including social workers, to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to safeguarding and child protection.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing fostering services, with a strong background in child care and protection.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to safeguarding and child protection.
