Job Title: Youth and Play Session Volunteer

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to support our Youth and Play Workers in delivering engaging and fun sessions for young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of the room and activities before each session
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of sessions, including outings and activities
  • Facilitate group discussions and tasks throughout the session
  • Support with catering and administrative duties as needed
  • Follow High Trees policies and procedures for working with children and young people
  • Inform Youth and Play Workers of any issues that arise during sessions

Commitment:

  • Attend one session per week, with flexibility to attend shorter or longer sessions
  • Commit to supporting for at least one term (September to December, January to April, May to August)

Skills and Qualities:

  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Good social and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage with young people
  • Desirable skills include sports, arts and crafts, cooking, sports coaching, building and bike maintenance
