Job Summary:The Contracts Engineer will provide contracts and administration support for the wider sales force and serve as the project interface/technical support for the user/purchaser of central plant equipment throughout the order process.
Key Responsibilities:- Review ordered equipment specifications and compliance to design brief.
- Process orders on the factory with admin team assistance.
- Serve as the technical interface and point of contact for the equipment purchaser/user during the contract process.
- Attend site visits as required to aid in the contract process and ensure correct installation.
- Work with the relevant account manager to ensure a smooth flow of information to the client, particularly in relation to lead times.
- Liaise with the factory during the order process.
- Check and issue factory documentation, including GA drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Liaise with the factory regarding testing requirements.
- Organize lead times and scheduling of deliveries.
- Arrange on-site commissioning through to final handover to the client, including generation of method statements and risk assessments.
This role requires strong organizational, administration, and communication skills, as well as a particular eye for detail when analyzing and reviewing documentation and information.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar role within this industry or an allied contract management role.
Desirable skills include a good working knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems, and control systems, as well as engineering qualifications.
The candidate will also be IT literate and proficient in Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong personal attributes, including self-motivation, drive, methodical approach, numeracy, organization, punctuality, assertiveness, professionalism, personability, and resourcefulness, are essential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels, including with clients and colleagues, are also required.
The candidate will be analytical, with excellent attention to detail, and possess excellent time management, multitasking skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
They will also be able to work under pressure, use their own initiative, and demonstrate excellent business sense, commercial awareness, and negotiation skills.
