Job Title: Perioperative Medicine Specialist

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Perioperative Medicine Specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with the Intensive Care and Perioperative Consultant and the Acute Medical and Anaesthetic Consultant to optimize perioperative care for acute surgical patients.

Main Responsibilities:

The Perioperative Medicine Specialist will be responsible for working with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes. This will include collaborating with geriatric medicine and anaesthetic departments to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgery.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric medicine and anaesthesia, with experience in perioperative care. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Working Pattern:

The full-time NHS post currently does not include an out-of-hours on call rota, although this may be subject to change depending on service expansion.
