Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Cardiology Ward team at University Hospital Wishaw.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing care needs and developing programmes of care, as well as implementing and evaluating these programmes to ensure high-quality patient care.
The nurse will work independently, carrying out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision, and may be required to demonstrate procedures and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Excellent team working skills and ability to work using own initiative
- Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to degree level or undertaken post-registration courses
- Evidence of CPD, e.g. Flying Start
- Previous Registered Nursing position
- Experience working in an acute medical environment, preferably Cardiology
- Knowledge and awareness of person-centred care
- Knowledge and awareness of infection control guidelines
- Evidence of post-registration skills, e.g. IV drug therapy, cannulation, and phlebotomy
- Ability to use NHS Patient Management Systems
- Ability to work rotational shift patterns

Working Hours:
The successful candidate will be required to work a 34.1-hour part-time contract, with the possibility of flexible working arrangements. Please note that the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours from 1 April 2024, without loss of earnings.
