Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Nurse to join our Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service at University Hospital Wishaw.

The successful candidate will provide nursing leadership and support the delivery of nursing skills and knowledge in the care, management, and education of children with specific specialist disorders within the hospital and community setting.

This role encompasses autonomous practice, caseload management, and a level of specialist knowledge and intervention required by a specific patient group, their carers, and other staff involved in the care delivery process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing leadership and support to the Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service
  • Deliver nursing skills and knowledge in the care, management, and education of children with specific specialist disorders
  • Manage caseloads and provide specialist knowledge and intervention to patients, carers, and other staff
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • Registered Sick Children's Nurse with valid NMC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Masters Degree in specialist area
  • Evidence of further education including Post Grad Certification
  • Diploma continuous professional development in relevant areas
  • Qualified paediatric/child branch nurse
  • Experience working in the Community
