The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Nurse to join our Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service at University Hospital Wishaw. As a Specialist Nurse, you will provide nursing leadership and expertise in supporting the delivery of nursing skills and knowledge in the care, management, and education of children with specific specialist disorders.
This role encompasses autonomous practice, caseload management, and a level of specialist knowledge and intervention required by a specific patient group, their carers, and other staff involved in the care delivery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing leadership and expertise in supporting the delivery of nursing skills and knowledge in the care, management, and education of children with specific specialist disorders.
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, providing individualized care and support.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to children's services.
- Provide education and training to staff and patients on specialist topics.
Requirements
- Registered Sick Children's Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
- Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
- Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
