Research Scientist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research group at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will work on a new collaborative project with a start-up company in Cambridgeshire, focusing on oxide thin film materials with electrical switching effects in epitaxial binary ferroelectric oxide thin films.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake research in the area of oxide thin film materials with electrical switching effects in epitaxial binary ferroelectric oxide thin films.
- Work with industry colleagues on a new collaborative project.
- Undertake experimental research in a team environment, working under the supervision of Prof Driscoll.
- Undertake thin film growth by pulsed laser deposition and/or sputtering, materials characterisation by a wide range of methods, and electrical device fabrication and testing.
Requirements:
- PhD in a materials science or a closely related subject.
- Experience in 2D materials such as graphene, hexagonal boron nitride and transition metal dichalcogenides.
- Effective written communication skills and the ability to plan and organise independently.
