Job Summary

The Regional Manager will oversee the management and control of stores within the designated region, ensuring consistent and high levels of customer service and store standards, to maximize sales and people potential, while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of retail professionals to drive profitable sales through a customer-centric approach and efficient operational delivery.
  • Deliver positive key performance indicators (KPIs) across the balanced scorecard.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitors, identifying opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Monitor sales, hours, costs, and stock for each store, ensuring optimal performance and budget adherence.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety, loss prevention, and right-to-work regulations across all stores.
  • Take ownership of leadership and direction of stores and teams, aligned with the operational plan.
  • Deliver the agreed retail plan, ensuring consistency across the estate.
  • Create a high-performance culture across the region through effective coaching and empowerment.
  • Develop a strong succession pipeline.
  • Proactively work on personal development, seeking frequent feedback and maintaining a robust performance development plan.
  • Manage and develop Store Managers, addressing conduct or capability issues in a timely manner.
  • Recruit Store Managers for new and existing stores, adhering to company recruitment procedures.
  • Resolve staffing difficulties across the region efficiently.
  • Coach Store Managers to optimize team performance.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in leading a team of retail professionals, delivering positive KPIs across the balanced scorecard.
  • Prior experience in multi-site store management.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating consistent leadership behaviors.
  • Commercially aware and business-minded, focusing on strategic value addition.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market trends and competitors, acting on opportunities.
  • Able to assume total accountability for leadership and direction of stores and teams, aligned with the operational plan.
  • Can deliver the agreed retail plan, ensuring consistency across the estate.
  • Able to manage and influence stakeholders across all business levels.
  • Ensures development of a strong succession pipeline.
  • Engaged in the wider business, actively interested in contributing to Card Factory's success.
  • Role models company values and behaviors, leading the way for continued business success in an evolving retail environment.
  • Delivers strong sales through effective leadership.
  • Has a flexible approach, adapting management style as needed.
  • Effectively deals with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Communicates clearly and in a timely manner.

Working Arrangements

This role may involve out-of-hours and weekend working to support business needs. A full, clean driving license is required for travel between group sites.
