We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Claims Handler to join our Fleet and Specialist product team at Acorn Insurance & Financial Services LTD. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist products in motor claims from start to settlement.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Validation and Assessment: Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud, assess liability, and communicate our decision to claimants or representatives.
- Communication and Relationship Management: Establish our exposure in respect of all Heads of Damage, ensuring key information is obtained and updated on the claim file.
- Quantum Assessment and Reserve Management: Accurately assess claims presented using relevant tools, identify cases where intervening on vehicle losses will reduce our overall exposure, and ensure indemnity spend is minimized.
- Diary Management and Performance Monitoring: Proactively manage your diary to monitor and progress cases, and be accountable for your performance against set objectives.
- File and Portfolio Management: Ensure effective file and portfolio management, and assist with coaching and mentoring of less experienced handlers.
- Strong Insurance Background: A strong insurance background with a working knowledge in indemnity and a commercial market awareness.
- Persuasive Communication: Persuasive, strong, and confident communicator with the ability to relationship manage and use own initiative to explore all options to achieve the best outcome for the business.
- Organization and Analytical Skills: Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, and the ability to fact find and analyze information to result in accurate decision making.
- Experience and Qualifications: Significant PI and/or credit hire claims experience, and a working knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules & hourly rate costs.
