Job Title: Technical Claims Handler

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Claims Handler to join our team at Acorn Insurance & Financial Services LTD. As a Technical Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of technically complex and/or high-value claims, providing technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers, and participating in training and auditing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively manage a caseload of technically complex and/or high-value claims, ensuring they are reserved in line with best practice and the earliest opportunity.
  • Handle claims within a defined handling authority, mitigating claims leakage and spend through proactive claims management.
  • Drive and negotiate claims settlement at the earliest available opportunity, understanding the importance of the claims function in the wider business.
  • Participate in training of less experienced claims handlers, and support with auditing, as well as assist with ad hoc tasks as business needs dictate.
Requirements:
  • Persuasive, strong, and confident communicator with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative to explore all options to achieve the best outcome for the business and take ownership of the same.
  • Highly motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision and capable of organizing and prioritizing work effectively.
  • Excellent team player with an understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols.
